Alma Graciela Garza

Alma Graciela Garza, 62, Harvard, died Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, Wis.

She was born Jan. 25, 1952, to Vicente H. and Maria de Jesus (Salinas) Garza in Mexico.

She was a hardworking, single mother of three.  She enjoyed the simple things in life.  She loved music, good food and the warmth of the sun on a summer day.  She knew that she was a very blessed woman, touching many people throughout her life.  She was a member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Harvard.  She was a special person and will be missed.  

Survivors include two sons, Homero Ortiz, Harvard, and Antonio Ortiz, Harvard; a daughter, Vanessa Salas, Harvard; two grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Natalie Amaya; her mother; seven brothers, Miguel, Vicente, Roberto, Arturo, Oscar, Fernando and George Garza; and four sisters, Susie Garza, Rosa Luna, Sandra Farrell and Blanca Hemesath.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Joe Garza.

A memorial service was held Aug. 15 at New Life Pentecostal Church, Harvard.
