Jae Do Jang

Jae Do Jang, 74, Harvard, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at JourneyCare Hospice Center, Woodstock.

He was born Nov. 14, 1939, in Korea to Ku Hyun and Phil Nam (Shin) Jang.   On Nov. 17, 1971, he married Min Sook Kang in Seoul, Korea.

He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Sogang University in Seoul, and worked as a computer programmer analyst. He was a member of the Korean Church of Chicago in Hoffman Estates.   

Survivors include his wife; three children, Jason Jang, New York City, Hannah (Matthew Condell) Jang-Condell, Fort Collins, Colo., and Ken Jang, Princeton, N.J.; two grandchildren, Maxwell and Jeffrey Condell; two brothers; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters in Korea.

A service was held Oct. 24 at the Korean Church of Chicago. A gathering was held Oct. 25 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home.
