Ollie Blank, 84, Harvard, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Louis W. and Ruby V. (Tyler) Blank.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On Oct. 28, 1950, he married Evelyn L. Whitacre in Harvard.

He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Chrysler until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, nature and most of all being with his family and friends. He was the most kind, caring and giving man toward people and nature. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and the Harvard Moose Lodge. He was a charter member of the Harvard Rescue Squad and was patriotic and proud to serve his country and his community.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Stevenson, Beloit, Wis., and Tammy (Jeff) Pankonin, Carpentersville; a son, Doug (Jeanne) Blank, Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering was held Dec. 27, 2014, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, Harvard. Inurnment was private.

Memorial donations can be given to the family to be determined at a later date.
