Samuel K. Walter

Samuel K. Walter, 24, Hebron, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born March 20, 1990, in Rockford to David and Brenda (Courtade) Walter.

He graduated from Alden-Hebron High School and was employed at Wheeling Service and Supply Inc.

He was an avid reader and loved reading about history, especially about World War II. He loved deer hunting and also fishing in Canada with his family and friends.  He enjoyed sports and played in high school. He was a big Bears fan.

He will be deeply missed and will be remembered as a kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. He was a great brother and friend.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Kathryn Walter; his girlfriend, Ashley Francois; his paternal grandmother, Judy Walter; his maternal step-grandfather, Ronald Streit; aunts and uncles, Lori (Ken) Hawes, Lana (Rob) Meyer, Kathy Flynn, Duane Walter, Debby (Fred) Faley and Charlotte (Tom) Deneen; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Don Courtade and Pat Courtade-Streit; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Walter; aunt and godmother, Kimmey Walter; an uncle, Bob Flynn; and a cousin, Nicholas Hawes.

Visitation was Sept. 23 at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home. The funeral was Sept. 24 at the funeral home.

Interment was in Dunham-Chemung Cemetery.
